He mainly photographs trees in various places around the world, but his favourite places are the Czech forests and the landscape of southern Bohemia, where his ancestors came from. For him, the forest is an inexhaustible source of artistic expression. In summer he photographs wild streams and details of mosses, lichens and plants, in winter he photographs snow-covered lonely trees or frost in the treetops. He likes to shoot at the edge of the forest, just after sunrise, and for more intimate lighting he ventures deeper into the forest to hard-to-reach places. He looks for the sun's rays as they penetrate the mist and branches. He looks for the last signs of autumn, the first snowfalls, perhaps a snow-covered autumn beech forest. The morning and early evening sun is best. During the "golden hour", when the sun is above the horizon, you can take impressive pictures of the forest kingdom.
Er fotografiert hauptsächlich Bäume an verschiedenen Orten der Welt, aber seine Lieblingsorte sind die tschechischen Wälder und die Landschaft Südböhmens, woher seine Vorfahren stammen. Der Wald ist für ihn eine unerschöpfliche Quelle des künstlerischen Ausdrucks. Im Sommer fotografiert er wilde Bäche und Details von Moosen, Flechten und Pflanzen, im Winter verschneite, einsame Bäume oder Frost in den Baumkronen. Am liebsten fotografiert er am Waldrand, kurz nach Sonnenaufgang, und geht tiefer in den Wald hinein, um an schwer zugänglichen Stellen eine intimere Beleuchtung zu erreichen. Er sucht nach den Sonnenstrahlen, die durch den Nebel und die Äste dringen. Er achtet auf die letzten Anzeichen des Herbstes, den ersten Schneefall. Am besten ist die Morgen- und frühe Abendsonne. Während der "goldenen Stunde", wenn die Sonne über dem Horizont steht, lassen sich eindrucksvolle Bilder von der Waldwelt machen.
Fotografuje především stromy na různých místech světa, ale nejraději má české lesy a krajinu jižních Čech, odkud pocházejí jeho předkové. Les je pro něj nevyčerpatelným zdrojem uměleckého vyjádření. V létě fotografuje divoké potoky a detaily mechů, lišejníků a rostlin, v zimě zasněžené osamělé stromy nebo námrazu v korunách stromů. Rád fotí na okraji lesa, těsně po východu slunce, pro komornější osvětlení se vydává hlouběji do lesa na těžko přístupná místa. Hledá sluneční paprsky, které pronikají mlhou a větvemi. Vyhledává poslední známky podzimu, první sněhové srážky. Nejlepší je ranní a podvečerní slunce. Během "zlaté hodiny", kdy je slunce nad obzorem, lze pořídit působivé snímky lesního království.
